We are a family-run small hotel and inn in southern Halland, surrounded by forests and peaceful nature.
We are open year-round if you would like to spend the night. All rooms have views of the surrounding nature, a private bathroom, and access to a shared guest kitchen, sauna, and comfortable lounges. This is a place where you can feel at home and enjoy a relaxing stay at your own pace.
Breakfast and our much loved restaurant are open during the high season in summer, on many weekends throughout the year and for pre-booked groups. When you reserve your room, you'll see exactly what services are available during your stay.

What we are all about
Vallåsens Värdshus is a family owned concept, challenging the terms hotel, hostel and restaurant. Our place is different than all those labels. We are welcoming and personal. The atmosphere is warm – you are treated as family when you visit ours. The food we grow onsite, the stillness of the forest and the unique décor, mixing handmade crafts with Scandinavian design classics – it all contributes to the warmth. This is a place where you can truly be yourself and relax.
Location
Our location is convenient. We are situated right in-between Malmö/Copenhagen and Gothenburg on the southwestern coast part of Sweden. It takes under 2 hours to reach us from Copenhagen Airport.
In the area
The ridge to the immediate south of us, know as Hallandsåsen, is basically a large playground for hikers, runners, cyclists and skiers. A long time ago, the oldest part of Vallåsens Värdshus was a hunting villa – a place to go for outdoor life and relaxation. Today, we fill a similar need with guests looking for recreation, nature, adventure and stillness. We have a large garden that blends into the forest and 10 km of marked trails for hiking, running and mountain biking. You can rent a mountain bike onsite and book a guided tour if you wish. We also have a forest disc golf course on our land.
A new take on a hotel
We offer accommodation as a new take on a hotel. All our rooms (22) are doubles or family rooms with a window to nature and their own private bathroom. High quality cotton bed linen and towels are always included, as is the final room cleaning and access to our guest kitchen/bbq area. What's different from a regular hotel is that you make your own bed and we don't always offer breakfast and dinner, depending on the season. If we don’t, you can use the guest kitchen or book a breakfast basket/dinner basket with us.
Weddings, Events & Food
We also offer a wedding/party venue for up to 80 guests on our premises, and the option of renting the entire place (rooms and all) for your event. Our restaurant is open seasonally – in July for example, it's open daily and leading up to Christmas for a traditional Swedish julbord. Moa is our chef, and her cooking is lovingly prepared largely using locally produced food, vegetables grown in our own garden and delicacies found in the forest around us. Please inquire when you book if the restaurant is open or if it's a time of self-catering only.
